Laura’s Journey from Pain to Empowerment

Hi! I’m Laura, The Neurodiversity Fairy…

I went most of my life undiagnosed but massively struggling.

When I was in primary school, I was a prefect who was seen as ‘gifted and talented‘ despite having difficulties with reading, tying my shoelaces, bedwetting and telling the time...luckily I was really smart, so I found ways to overcome my challenges and excel again.

From the age of 11, my mental health seriously declined, to the point of having a nervous breakdown at 15. I was suicidal, obese, depressed, self-harming, anxious, and I hated myself and my life. I grew up being bullied at school and witnessing aggression, violence and a feeling of constant fear at home. There was no let up for me.

As I got older, things got worse. I developed a damaging relationship with food, sugar being my first addiction. I remember every year I gained a stone in weight, ending up at 19 stone (260 lbs) by 18 years of age.

I discovered weed around 17 – this began an 8-year addiction. At one point, I was smoking 10+ joints a day. I just needed to be numbed to life. I was kicked out of my family home at 19. At this time, I also developed bulimia and anorexia and lost over 100lbs in a few months. I got hit by a car and evicted from a flat by an abusive landlord who did his best to make me homeless because I wouldn’t sleep with him. I also found other drugs, which I soon began to become dependent on.

I spent years in addiction, gaining and losing the same 40lbs, getting sacked from jobs, lying, cheating and stealing to support my drug habit…

I was not a good person. I just wanted to die.

There was always something that pulled me back from the literal and proverbial edge. A glimmer of hope.

Maybe things could get better?

And so began my new addiction to healing, learning and self-improvement. I’ve read 1000s of books and studies, I’ve worked with Shaman, psychotherapists and psychedelics (to name a few), I’ve drank Ayahuasca, I’ve been to the seminars, I’ve done the hypnosis, the shadow work, the deep spiritual and psychological inquiry and it’s made me a fucking Guru on healing, trauma, self-development and consciousness. 🧚🏻‍♀️

And I want to help you like I helped myself.

Laura has changed her life entirely, and she is passionate about helping others turn their lives around. Her empathic, capable, and no-nonsense approach will have you challenging yourself to see improvements fast.

If you’re committed to change, you won’t find a coach who is more knowledgeable or committed to you than Laura is.

Laura founded ‘Lau of Attraction Life Coaching’ in 2017, using her knowledge of health, coaching and spirituality to help others to become their best selves.

In 2023, she was personally diagnosed with ADHD, and her mental health journey began to make sense. As a result, she wanted to share all of the holistic tips that she had been using to help her (undiagnosed at the time) ADHD and create neurodiversity-specific resources and coaching to aid her new community – as a result, The Neurodiversity Fairy was born.
