Tips for managing ADHD

Some tips I would suggest –

  • high protein breakfast with complex carbs. 
  • Avoiding simple carbs (pushes up the serotonin, impacting dopamine.) 
  • Visible routine sheets/whiteboard.
  • Limit your sugar intake. (Affects brain chemistry, exacerbating the issue.)
  • Create and stick to routines. (Visible boards can help with this!)

ADHD is a dopamine issue.

Ways to increase your dopamine naturally –

  • Cold Shower (Start off lukewarm and get gradually colder, try a 2 second burst before your normal shower, or just put your leg in…then build up!)
  • Eat lots of protein. Proteins are made up of smaller building blocks called amino acids. This helps dopamine production. 
  • Eat less saturated fat.
  • Consume probiotics. 
  • Eat velvet beans. 
  • Exercise often.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Listen to happy music.
  • Meditate.
